“This Painting is called Crown. Connecting it to our time during quarantine, Crown in Spanish is Corona. The name Crown is also a connection to the collective growth that occurred during this time, and our attempts to engage the CROWN Chakra, symbolized within the painting as the snake or kundalini rising. The parts of the body normally covered by protective covid gear, by a mask and gloves, are exposed: the mouth being one of them. The inversion of this closure suggests that this time brought us to a point of speaking up and communicating in a way that was heard. The rest of the corporal body is silhouetted, illustrating spiritual shadow work at play. The eye in the palm of my right hand (painting hand) represents creative awaking and protection, while the left-hand holds a cactus blossom resembling a flame, this is to show that the creative fire ignites in the heart, and like the cactus flower, the heart is resilient and grows despite the circumstance. The third eye is activated in sighting higher focus and purpose, which opens the mind to great things. This is represented by the flower halo. The green upside-down triangle is the presence of the sacred feminine which is constantly guiding the focus of my creative path.
